Vintage-Inspired Milliner and Traditional Hatter

All the hats and headpieces I make are stiffened, steamed and blocked by hand using traditional millinery techniques and processes with materials such as fur velour felts, sinamay and buckram. What I love about producing them is the sculptural qualities of each piece but I also enjoy the idea that I am upholding a dying craft. At the moment I am taking inspiration from the flattering lines and forms from the golden days of millinery (1920’s – 1970’s) using stylish colours such as bottle green, navy, browns and greys often using vintage trimmings and beautiful natural feathers.
